Requirements

  • macOS 26 or later

    Séance is built for macOS 26 and its Liquid Glass design.

  • Apple silicon required

    An M1 chip or later. Intel-based Macs aren’t supported.

  • Apple Intelligence (optional)

    Recaps, translations and smart suggestions need a compatible Mac with Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings (Apple’s model takes about 7 GB).

  • Internet, once

    To fetch information the first time. After that, Séance works offline.

Installation

  1. Open the downloaded file

    Double-click Seance-1.0.dmg in your Downloads.

  2. Drag Séance to Applications

    Then eject the disk image.

  3. Open Séance

    From Applications or Spotlight. The app is notarized by Apple: macOS only asks you to confirm opening an app downloaded from the internet.

  4. Add your videos

    Drop a folder or a drive into the window, or click “Choisir un dossier…” (Choose a folder). Allow drive access when macOS asks.

Good to know

  • Richer information

    A free TMDB API key, pasted in Settings › Metadata, gives more complete information, text-free backdrops and title logos.

  • Before an outage

    Settings › Library › “Ready for an outage”: one click on “Prepare everything” and it’s all cached.

  • After the trial

    Buy a lifetime license ($10) whenever you like: your key arrives by email. Your data stays intact.
